Texas Clay Festival

ANNUALLY THE FOURTH WEEKEND IN OCTOBER

The Texas Clay Festival was founded in 1992 by Jan & Jon Brieger, Terry & Dee Buck, Gaye Lynn & Michael Hodgson, Beverly & Billy Ray Mangham, Jim Dale, and Frank Campbell, good pottery friends who decided what this state (Texas) needed was a show focusing exclusively on clay and pottery, run by potters. This festival, on the grounds of The Barn Pottery in Gruene, TX, has grown over the years from a small gathering of potters and friends to an event attended by thousands of visitors, students, and collectors each year.

Featuring over 60 of Texas' finest clay artists, the festival offers visitors the opportunity to meet the artists, view and purchase their latest work, and watch demonstrations throughout both days. It’s been called a two-day clay love-fest. Students and educators, professionals and collectors– anyone interested in clay—can be found in Gruene, TX on the 4th weekend in October to celebrate the ancient art of ceramics.
